2020 Shiraz Blend, Yarra Valley, Victoria
Soft tannins, generous cherry, plum, and blackberry.
A co-fermentation of 85% Shiraz and 15% Pinot Noir, this blend reimagines the Australian Shiraz style. Pinot Noir contributes lift, brightness, and red fruit aromatics, while Shiraz provides depth, richness, and structure. Fermented together for seamless integration, the wine delivers soft tannins, generous cherry, plum, and blackberry flavours, and a subtle touch of vanilla spice from gentle oak ageing. Minimal new oak ensures the fruit remains the star, resulting in a balanced, medium-bodied red with depth and approachability.
85% Shiraz & 15% Pinot Noir
The 2020 growing season in the Yarra Valley was marked by a mild summer and cooler conditions during ripening, which allowed for slow, even flavour development and excellent natural acidity. While yields were slightly lower due to variable spring weather, the resulting fruit showed purity, balance, and concentration. Careful vineyard management and favourable harvest conditions produced wines with vibrant aromatics, refined structure, and impressive ageing potential a hallmark of this cooler, more elegant vintage.
