2025 Pinot Gris, Yarra Valley, Victoria
Crisp and refreshing with pear and lychee notes and a delightfully dry finish
A twist on the typical Pinot Gris, crafted in the same approach as a rosé with a few hours left on the skins. A dry, delicately bronze-hued wine offering an aromatic bouquet of poached pear, lychee, and tropical fruit notes. Crisp and elegant, a versatile and refreshing choice for any occasion.
The 2025 growing season was marked by a mild spring and warm, dry summer, creating ideal conditions for extended hang time and concentrated sugar development in the vineyard. Careful canopy management and late harvesting allowed the fruit to achieve exceptional ripeness and complexity.
The blocks were planted in the mid-1980s. The Pinot Gris block, C1, is oriented North/South and is situated on a relatively flat area that gently slopes towards the south. The soil in this area is primarily grey sandy loam with a solid base.
Machine harvested and pressed straight away to tank. Settled overnight, then racked, inoculated, and fermented in stainless steel for around 10 days. Racked again off gross lees, sulphured, and left in tank for 4 months before bottling.
A soft sweet start with a refreshingly crisp finish, this Pinot Gris offers vibrant aromas and flavours of poached pear, lychee, and tropical fruit with a dry, elegant finish.
