2023 Chardonnay, Yarra Valley, Victoria
Rich and layered with lime, fig, and caramel, beautiful with creamy pasta or lobster
Complex and expressive with layers of peach, nectarine, and citrus complemented by subtle oak spice and a hint of savoury reduction. The palate is powerful yet poised, with textural depth, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish.

A wet spring and early summer required careful vineyard management to manage disease pressure. Hot, dry conditions in February and March supported ripening, with a steady flow of fruit keeping both vineyard and winery teams busy. Strong fruit set led to a return to normal yields across the property.
Hand-picked from mature P58 clone vines planted in the late 1980s, this Chardonnay was barrel fermented and aged for eight months in French oak (20% new, the remainder seasoned). The wine shows a bright green-gold hue and opens with savoury aromas of stone fruit, subtle matchstick, and a touch of charcuterie. The palate is concentrated, textured, and saline, with a long, satisfying finish that reflects the balance and depth of its site.
