The 2019 season in the Yarra Valley began with a damp late spring followed by a warm, dry summer, producing fruit with exceptional concentration, balance, and structure — ideal for crafting long-lived, cellar-worthy wines. These conditions allowed for careful selection of only the most outstanding parcels for this flagship release.
Released only in exceptional vintages, Alicorn Black is an ultra-premium blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (80%) and Merlot (20%), crafted from the most promising barrels of the vintage. Meticulous selection, extended maturation, and minimal intervention combine to create a wine of remarkable depth, perfume, and longevity.
