Helen Xu is the co founder of Helen & Joey Estate, a wine and hospitality destination in the Yarra Valley.

Helen was born in a small village in China with a long family history. She grew up surrounded by farming, family traditions and community life. These early experiences helped shape her strong connection to the land and her hardworking nature.

In 2010, Helen and her husband Joey Zeng bought the Spring Lane vineyard in the Yarra Valley. Together, they worked to turn the property into a single estate winery focused on quality wines that reflect the vineyard.

What began as a small vineyard project has grown into a destination with a winery, cellar door, restaurant and boutique hotel. Throughout this journey, Helen has stayed focused on quality, care and welcoming hospitality.

Under her guidance, the estate created three wine ranges: Unicorn, Wayward Child and Re’em. Each range has its own style while still reflecting the character of the vineyard.

In 2023, Helen and Joey opened Re’em Yarra Valley. The venue includes a restaurant, cellar door and 16 room boutique hotel overlooking the vines.

Today, Helen continues to lead the estate with a focus on sustainability, growth and guest experience. Her story is one of hard work, family and never giving up hope.
